RESIDENTIAL

Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance Company offers a wide range of residential coverages for one of your biggest investments, your home. We also offer coverages for your personal property, jewellery, watercraft, cottages and also personal liability.

Some of the Residential Packages we offer are:

• Homeowners Package
• Tenants Package
• Condominium Package
• Seasonal Homeowners Package

Homeowners Package
Includes coverage for your home, private structures, personal property, additional living expenses, sewer back-up for $10,000 and identity theft. For additional premium personal liability is purchased. It is very important that you establish a proper replacement value for your home and our brokers can help in establishing that value.

Tenants Package
Designed for people who live in rented premises. The coverage is similar to a homeowner’s, except there is no coverage for the dwelling. It does contain tenant’s legal liability insurance which protects against fire, explosion and smoke damage to the premises you actually occupy, if you are negligent or responsible.

Condominium Package
Includes coverage for personal property, additional living expense and then also covers for any improvements the unit owner has made to their unit to a specific limit, assessments payable by unit owners which are made necessary by a direct loss to the collectively-owned condominium property to a maximum limit, and assessments payable by unit owners for liability of the condominium corporation, not otherwise insured, subject to a maximum limit.

Seasonal Homeowners Package
Includes the same coverages as the homeowners package with the exception of a Sewer Back-up and Identity Theft. We allow this coverage if the insured occupies this home a large portion of the year and it is not rented out. We only offer this coverage if we insure the principal residence unless the residence is outside of Ontario.

To any of these packages you can add additional coverages for jewellery, cottages, boats & motors, fine arts, etc.

Personal Liability
Protects against losses that may arise out of your legal responsibility for negligent or careless acts to a third party. Both you and the members of your immediate family are covered. This coverage also includes Voluntary Medical Payments and Voluntary Property Damage as described in the residential policy.
